New work available: “McCaig’s Tower” Nos. 1-3.

Ink, framed in brass, approx 50mm x 50mm.

McCaig’s Tower is an iconic landmark in Oban, Scotland.

It holds magical memories for me from my first ever visit to Oban and I wanted to convey that with inks in deep shades of purple and bronze. At first glance this miniature painting appears subdued yet when soft light catches it, it glows and shimmers revealing its beauty.

This design is inspired by a bird’s eye view of the paths, trees and shrubs inside the tower. The patterns within the circles are taken from the rock art and carvings in Kilmartin. Each painting in this series is unique with different patterns and backgrounds.
